Pennsylvania Dept. of Welfare - Standards & Assessment Alignment Analysis

The implementation of early learning standards and assessments has significant implications for early childhood education; in effect, these documents define what should be taught and what data are collected to determine if children are learning the intended content. They have, however, typically been developed in isolation from one another. This project, the first of its kind in the country, will provide for a in-depth analysis of the alignment between the standards and assessments used in Pennsylvania's early care classrooms (infant/toddler/pre-k) and those used in the K-12 program to assist in developing an early childhood accountability system.

Funding Source: Tuscarora Intermediate Unit, Pennsylvania Department of Education, Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.
